Author Talk by Elif Shafak ~ November 2025

In November 2025, four members from The Cotswold Book Nook (Hucclecote Reading Group) listened to a fascinating Author Talk by Elif Shafak. Her sold out event was at The Stroud Book Festival where she was talking to fellow Author Dr Rachel Clarke about her book 'There are Rivers in the Sky' at the Subscription Rooms. [Photo above]

Christmas Social ~ December 2025

Our Hucclecote Group had a lovely breakfast and fun book discussion at a local pub in December 2025. The theme was 'Books from your Childhood'. It was fun to hear members stories and memories from that time.

Anniversary Breakfast ~ March 2026

The Hucclecote Reading Group celebrated their one year anniversary with lively book discussions over a leisurely breakfast at a local pub. The theme was 'Anniversary' (or memorable date).

Author Q&A ~ April 2026

On the 1st April 2026, I hosted an Author Q&A session with local Crime & Suspense Fiction Writer Rachel Sargeant. Please see my Socials for photos and updates on this enthusiastic and engaging talk from Rachel. This was held for my Coffee House 43 (Hucclecote) Reading Group members.

Author Q&A ~ May 2026

On the 11th May 2026, I was thrilled to welcome local RomCom author Anita Faulkner to my Cafe Elm Reading Group. Please see my Socials for photos. This was held for my Longlevens Book Club members.

Evening Local Ghost Tour (linked to our April theme 'Ghost Stories).

On Friday 22nd May 2026 a few of my members toured around Gloucester on a clear, balmy evening with Becki from Ghosts & Giggles. We were introduced to a fascinating mix of ghostly tales and history combined. I really enjoyed it and read a few local history books immediately afterwards.

Late Summer Literary Afternoon Tea

On Wednesday 9th September at Cafe Elm in Longlevens, Reading Group members gathered for a 'Literary' themed Afternoon Tea. There were unlimited cups of tea and glasses of Prosecco and lovely bookish chats. A delightful blend of members from all three of my local Book Clubs. Featuring a Literary Quiz with a book related prize, Favourite Author and Book Discussions, Book Swap, 'Blind Date with a Book' sale and a Raffle.
